BEND LANDMARK HOTEL WEBSITE
The Westman
Bend, OR
The Westman came to us in the early stages of their project transforming Bend’s historic post office into a luxury downtown hotel. To establish an early digital footprint for the coming soon(ish) hotel, our challenge was to create an online window into the vision as it was being built. Starting with just a few architectural renderings and a style guide look-book, and guided by our meticulously researched search engine strategy, we created a site that firmly positioned the new hotel in place before opening.
SCOPE
• web design & development
• seo strategy
• messaging & copywriting
• blog content creation

Understated elegance.
The Westman aesthetic is centered on elemental textures and materials, elegantly composed to reflect the natural beauty of Bend, Oregon. Our website design flows from this style. Little details like vertical headings, rich color blocks, and just the right copy set the less-is-more tone beautifully.

Strategic messaging & copywriting.
Although the visual style for the brand was beautifully established, we were asked to develop a complete guide for messaging that included the search engine optimized vocabulary, tone and actual copywriting.
The magic of Central Oregon in video.
We knew the best way to convey the high desert magic of Central Oregon was with video. The artful kaleidoscope of adventure, captured by our favorite collaborators Ty & Chey, hooks website visitors right from the start.

Curated experiences.
We created a filterable Bend adventure guide that simply showcases the myriad possibilities on offer in the area, and allows guests to easily connect with the hotel concierge to curate custom itineraries.
Artisan makers behind The Westman.
The Westman is deeply rooted in Oregon, and this extends to nearly every craftsperson who contributed to the exterior and interior design of the hotel. We honor these incredible artisans on the site with an evolving section called Westman Friends.

“They not only nailed the design and functionality; they were an absolute pleasure to work with. Building a hotel website during pre-opening is complex—room details evolve, photography is in progress, and opening dates shift—but they handled every change with focus, creativity, and patience. I’d work with them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them for both website and branding work.”
